Truth Social (https://www.truthsocial.com/) | Engineering and Operations Roles | Florida USA or REMOTE (ONSITE preferred for some roles)
We are a social media company dedicated to delivering users an engaging and censorship-free experience. We believe users should be able to freely express themselves and engage with a rich diversity of viewpoints on a progressive, accessible platform. If you are interested in joining a company that is fast-paced, rapidly growing, and committed to free speech, please get in touch.
Our first product is Truth Social, a social media application which launched on 20 February to become #1 in the Apple App Store. We are expanding to other platforms (Web, Android) and adding functionality, plus working on follow-on products (SVOD, Infrastructure).
We're looking for a variety of roles in engineering for these products. Our current team is small and technically excellent, making extensive use of open source software and operating our own infrastructure to remain independent of third party control. We are particularly interested in hiring people from the established social media giants and large SAAS applications who were directly involved in creating software and infrastructure for scaling to hundreds of millions of users and beyond, and who want to do it again in an environment which values freedom of speech and expression.
A current scaling challenge is AI/ML and automated abuse mitigation. We have both in-house and external ML tooling, but are seeking to expand the team -- i.e. we plan to scale anti-abuse through cores, not bodies, although we are also hiring for human moderator and anti-abuse roles to expand those teams as well.
Another major focus is user privacy and messaging. We are looking for engineers with experience operating Matrix-compatible backends at scale, or with related experience. We plan to offer e2ee direct messaging and have integrated client code, but we are looking for someone to "own" the backend architecture from ongoing design and operations perspective, and to build a team around that.
A remaining area of interest is Android client development. We have a (12MB!) highly functional iOS client, a to-be-launched progressive web app, but want to build an Android team to build a first-class native experience for Android users.

I'm looking for experienced front-end engineers to join my team - Web Infrastructure. Notion is a highly interactive, ambitious desktop-class app squeezed into a browser. The Web Infra team mission is to keep our complex client-side codebase fast and our developers productive as we scale up the engineering organization. Some of the things we're working on this year:
• Improving the responsiveness of our custom reactivity framework, which powers real-time updates in our collaborative editor.
• Optimizing how we load code, so the editor launches fast even on low-end Android devices.
• Organizing and standardizing our internal component library to keep the engineering team productive.
We also have many other roles open – there are interesting challenges across the stack. We're scaling up to meet the challenges of a booming business (can't share much, but the numbers are good) in a competitive market. This is a really exciting time to join: we have product market fit, but the engineering team is still below Dunbar's number. Our culture is thoughtful, creative, a little quirky; we value writing and rigorous thinking.
Notion is an all-in-one workspace for notes, docs, project management, wikis, and collaboration — all customizable to fit the needs of individuals, teams, and entire companies worldwide. If every person and business can tailor software to their problems, the world will be better at solving its problems. Our mission is to make that a ubiquitous reality.
For an example of how companies use Notion, check out any `notion.site` links on this page - we're the 4th most popular host here, after ycombinator.com, lever.co, and greenhouse.io.

About Ellevest:
Ellevest is a fast-growing, venture-backed financial services start-up built by women, for women. Our mission is to get more money in the hands of women, no matter where they’re starting or how far they’ve come. We started by building the only gender-aware online investing platform that takes totally un-ignorable realities (like pay gaps, different salary curves, and women’s longer lifespans) into account. Then we added banking, learning, and money and career coaching services for Ellevest members, plus a full-service private wealth management service that helps high net worth people, families, and institutions align their financial power with their values.
Ellevest was co-founded by Wall Street veteran Sallie Krawcheck after she realized that the financial services industry was built by men, for men, systemically leaving women behind. During her Wall Street days, she served as CEO of Smith Barney, CEO of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, and CFO of Citi. Ellevest has raised $145 million from investors including Rethink Impact, Pivotal Ventures, Valerie Jarrett, Salesforce Ventures, PayPal Ventures, MasterCard, Khosla Ventures, Morningstar, and Venus Williams.

Mezzanine | Senior Software Engineer with DevOps responsibilities| Remote (but you need to be a resident of South Africa or Namibia) | Full-time | CAPE TOWN
DomainTools (domaintools.com) is hiring for multiple positions. We’re a mid-sized security company whose goal is to make the internet a safer place. Our part of that (enormous) job is knowing everything we can know about the Internet’s DNS (where domains resolve, who registered them, etc), to help security teams investigate malicious sites/pages/etc. The positions we’ve got open are remote, but limited to North America (US and Canada already, could probably figure out Mexico). The positions are:
* Senior Software Engineer - Cloud & DevOps Platform - This position will research, develop and deliver cloud automation using tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Argo, Vault, and Kafka. This position is basically building the base that the other engineering teams deploy onto, with the goal to make everyone's lives easier and more consistent.
* Full Stack Software Engineer, Integrations - This position will work with our product and engineering teams to integrate our data into other security products (Splunk, for example). It will touch a very diverse cross-section of the tools in the security space, as DomainTools wants to make sure our data is easily usable in a wide variety of places that teams may want to use it in. The position primarily works in python and Javascript, but may use others as needed (or customer/application requires).
* Senior Software Engineer and Software Developer Engineer-2 - These two positions are on the team I've been part of for the past 2 years. They're on the backend team, building systems to collect data about the entire internet (track the state of all domain names on the 'net, take screenshots of all of them, etc). The teams work primarily in python and golang, deploying services to kubernetes.
* Systems Engineer - This position is with our TechOps team, supporting the operation of our on-prem and cloud applications. This position supports production systems using Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Linux, etc.
If you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them. If you feel like any of these sound interesting but are a stretch for you, drop me a line at ageeclough ..at.. domaintools.com, I’d love to talk with you.

hyperspace | Engineers & Designers | Onsite (NYC) or Remote
Hyperspace (https://hyperspace.xyz) is the most powerful NFT platform yet built on top of Solana. Think of us like the kayak for NFTs (or 1inch for the crypto-native folks lol). With our custom-built tech, we allow users to discover, collect and sell NFTs across all Solana marketplaces from one unified UI.
We are also enabling developers to build their own custom solutions using our API's (now in beta: https://docs.hyperspace.xyz/hype).
Started in September 2021, we've raised $4.5M in Seed funding from an amazing set of investors like Dragonfly, Pantera Capital, NFX, Jump Capital and Solana Ventures to support our mission of powering the NFT ecosystem and building the future of digital goods! And we're just getting started
Open Roles:
1. Blockchain Engineer (If you're currently in web2, feel free to reach out! We've already onboarded many engineers from web2 to web3)
2. Back-End Engineer
3. Front-End Engineer
4. Product Designer
5. Data Engineer
ProcedureFlow | Frontend Developer (React), Full Stack .NET Developer | REMOTE in Eastern Canada | Full-Time | https://procedureflow.com
ProcedureFlow is a platform for your company's procedures inspired by the way you work. We're like GitHub but for visual procedures. We have change requests, everyone can have a "draft" branch, a side-by-side diff view of the flows, etc.
ProcedureFlow has great customers that consider us vital to their business. We have ambitious goals and need your help. We've grown 600% in the last 4 years, we've more than doubled our revenue and staff in the last year, and we recently raised $2.9 million in Series A funding.
Top 3 complex problems we're working on solving:
1. GitHub for visual procedures; versioning a knowledge graph.
2. Adding a public API for flows, event data, and critical features like SCIM.
3. Bridging the gap between documentation, execution, maintenance, and insight of a process.
• Experience building cloud-based web apps in C# or React.
• Experience as a generalist working on both the frontend, backend, and anything it takes to solve problems and delight users.
• Pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
• The ability to stitch together many different services and processes together even if they have not worked with them before.
• Empathy with their users and are stewards of crafting great experiences.
• Skills for upholding best practices in engineering, security, and design.
We try to make our technical interview process very practical and fair. We want to understand your skills and get a sense of what it's like to work together. For example, we don't use LeetCode, whiteboarding, ask you to recite an algorithms, etc.
ProcedureFlow is not your typical flowchart tool. We took the good parts, like the visual map, and fixed all the bad things:
• The "editing" experience is secondary. Viewing and navigating the flows is the priority.
• We democratize your company's procedures. The flows are meant to be used and improved by everyone at your company.
• We only have so many shapes that can be added. You don't just drag/drop a "rectangle" and make it purple. You add an "action" shape that has semantics.
• We recommend making smaller flows and linking them together rather than one big flowchart understood by a few people.
Here's some recent blog posts about our Engineering team:
• Competitive salary
• Autonomous remote work and working with a great team.
• Stock options signing bonus. Topped off based on individual/company performance and each funding round.
• Vacation: 3 weeks to start. We're very flexible with additional time off (errands, family time, appointments, etc).
• RRSP matching up to 4%.
• Good health coverage.
• Good work life balance. We don’t crunch or work regular overtime – deadlines are owned by us. Rare overtime like after hours maintenance means compensated time off.
• An opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fast growing Canadian startup. You’ll be very key to our success -- helping us grow the team into a well-oiled machine. Being an early employee means you have the possibility to grow into larger roles as the company grows (engineering IC, management, specialization, etc).

Nylas | San Francisco, New York, Denver, Toronto, Amsterdam, London| U.S. Remote-OK | https://www.nylas.com
Our mission is to power the productivity layer of the modern technology stack. Nylas is a pioneer and leading provider of universal communications APIs that allow developers to quickly connect their applications to every email, calendar, or contacts provider in the world. Computer networks offer refuge for adversaries, absorb tremendous amounts of our time arranging, terminating, and debugging connectivity, are inflexible to change and often actively working against us.
We're funded start-up on a mission to change that. We want to help people build simpler, smarter, and more secure computer networks both at work and at home.
We believe the network should be simple to reason about, easy to use and safe to operate. That means your network should “just work”. It should also just work in exactly the same way, everywhere. It should be flexible to change, simple to automate and only available to the right things at the right times.
Enclave is a new kind of software based Zero Trust Network Access that connects all of your computers, servers, cloud instances, containers and IoT devices together across any infrastructure with secure private networks, regardless of where they are. Whether that's multi-cloud, remote access, collaborating with third parties or just working from home, Enclave gives users predictable, private, and secure connectivity that just works.
We try and make the user experience of building private and secure networks much less complicated. I'm biased as co-founder, but if you're a developer, engineer or DevOps practitioner looking to build secure private networks and precision access without having to do anything complicated whatsoever, Enclave might be the answer. Users enrol systems, tag them, and then build policy out of those tags to define who can talk to what. It's super simple to get started, with no ACLs to setup or firewalls ports to open.
We're looking for experienced Technical / DevRel writers who can help us explain all of that and create great conversations with our technical users and are looking for someone who can support our efforts to build, develop and grow engagement across our channels. The content you produce will be used on our blog, website, emails, and social media and you’ll be helping to evolve our company voice and build communities and customer awareness.

Checkmarx | Solution Architect / Professional Services | Remote (North America, EMEA, APAC) | Full-time
Checkmarx builds application security testing tools. Our professional services team helps customers implement them.
We're a globally distributed remote team with backgrounds across application development, DevOps, SRE, and AppSec. We come from many industries - but the one thing we have in common is we're passionate about security and helping others build secure software.
We have a great team, great perks, great accolades, and lots of open positions!
The TLDR:
We offer an immutable database that handles kind of data/file that stores a complete version history of everything saved to it. This data is accessible via a standard GraphQL API or via our typesafe SDK client (kind of like prisma). Vendia is cofounded by Tim Wagner, creator of AWS Lambda. We've raised over $15 million in VC.
Our tech stack includes:
All major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc), Python, Node.js, Serverless, CDK, Terraform, Lambda, GraphQL, Next.js, React, TypeScript. etc.
We are building out a way for companies to share data & files via a b̶l̶o̶c̶k̶c̶h̶a̶i̶n̶ immutable ledgered database thats accessible via a standard graphQL API. It’s designed to work for multiple parties (e.g. external partner companies, different internal teams, etc., however it can work as a single user database as well. At it’s core, it’s the ledgered database that keeps full history over any data or file changes throughout time. Users can read/write/subscribe to data via a graphQL API and a typesafe SDK client (like prisma). Under the hood, it’s deployed as serverless resources to alleviate operational burdens & have a pay per use pricing model. When someone joins we spin up a cloud based b̶l̶o̶c̶k̶c̶h̶a̶i̶n̶ database via an easy to use GraphQL interface.

tl;dr - Help deploy VR + AR devices at scale. Learn a lot, work on interesting problems with us as we grow. If you want to chat, email john (at) managexr
At ManageXR, we're building the core infrastructure that enables organizations to benefit from VR and AR technology. As more enterprises use XR to train employees, doctors use XR to treat patients, and schools use XR to teach students, organizations face significant hurdles expanding their operations from early-stage pilots to organization-wide solutions. With ManageXR, our customers can effectively use XR at scale.
DefenseStorm | Seattle, Atlanta | Full Stack Engineer, Junior Software Engineer, Software Engineer - Machine Learning, Data Engineer | Full-time | REMOTE or ONSITE https://www.defensestorm.com
DefenseStorm is a cybersecurity startup that helps banks and other financial institutions manage the deluge of security data that they produce. We take all of the security critical information and then alert on what's important, generate reports, show cool dashboards, and simplify demonstrating compliance to their regulators and auditors. I got my job here through an HN Who's Hiring post 5 years ago, and I love working here. Strong engineering culture - weekly hour 'topic sync' to share knowledge, minimal meetings, flexible hours/wfh, happy customers that give good feedback, and interesting problems to solve. Our engineering team has been fully remote for COVID and we are conducting interviews remotely, but we are just now starting to open up the office for those who are vaccinated and wish to come in.
For Full stack engineers, we use Angular, Typescript, Java 11, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and we're built on AWS. Our interview loop is one or two ~1-hour phone screenings, followed by a ~4 hours video call - and we've designed it to approximate realistic day-to-day coding and code review (no algorithm riddles).
Machine learning is going to be a core part of what we do going forward, and we’re planning to significantly grow the team this year after building out our first couple applications. We have opportunities available for current ML engineers or full stack engineers without previous experience in ML to work on data-engineer-like projects and assist with productizing the outputs of our models.
Curative is refactoring healthcare. We've run >30m covid tests and >2m vaccinations in the US.
We're now expanding into building
a new vertically integrated healthcare platform.
We're continuing to support the response to the covid epidemic.
Our World in Data | Head of Product & Design | Remote | Full-time
We're a non-profit that aims to make data on the world's most important problems understandable and accessible to everyday people. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we assembled the reference dataset on Covid-19 vaccinations used even by the WHO. Our typical focus areas are poverty, hunger, disease, war, climate change and existential risk.
We're looking for an experienced product and design leader to join our leadership team and help shape Our World In Data as a publication and data visualisation space.
Pyth Network | Software Engineer, Frontend Developer, Reliability Engineer and more | Remote - Global | https://pyth.network/
Pyth Network is an oracle that publishes financial data on-chain for use in DeFi applications. We currently publish real-time prices for cryptocurrencies, FX, and equities on several different blockchains. We are the biggest oracle in the Solana ecosystem, where we secure >$2B of value and power a variety of borrow/lending, derivatives, and other DeFi protocols.
We have two goals at Pyth Network. First, we want to accelerate the growth of the DeFi ecosystem. We believe DeFi is the future of finance, and we are working together with the broader developer community to build a fairer and simpler financial system. Oracles are a critical component of most DeFi applications — they’re the only way for on-chain applications to get input from the outside world. Our goal is to create the most accurate and reliable price feeds, then unleash the creativity of external developers to build valuable applications on top.
Second, we want to make financial market data broadly accessible to the public. Today, most financial data is gated behind paywalls that keep out most potential participants. The data that is free is low resolution, e.g., daily open/close prices. We think this is unfair. Our price feeds are freely accessible to the public, and anyone is free to save the data for later analysis. In fact, we think our historical US equity prices are the highest-resolution, free data set, with price updates every 400 ms.
Our unique competitive advantage is our network of market data providers. Our network includes over 50 of the biggest exchanges, traders, and market makers in both the crypto and traditional finance worlds. These data providers have agreed to publish their proprietary data on-chain, which allows Pyth Network to build the fastest and most reliable price feeds. It also allows us to access financial data that is not freely-available from other sources, such as real-time US equity prices.
We offer competitive salaries, benefits, and employees may be eligible for token allocations as part of our incentive program.
Oso | Engineering Leader, Software Engineer, Developer Experience Engineer, Product Leader | New York City (NYC) | Onsite or Remote
Over the last 15 years, companies like AWS, Stripe, and Twilio have helped developers offload anything not core to their apps so they can focus on what matters to their users. Despite a lot of progress in developer tooling, most developers still roll their own authorization.
You might start with something quick 'n dirty – some IF statements and roles in a database, which may not be pretty but gets the job done...until you need to add more features, and more features. And inevitably every team band-aids onto this system until they do a big refactor. This is lost time for an area that's not core to what most companies are trying to solve for their users, and what's more, no one on the team is feeling great about this work.
At Oso (backed by Sequoia), we're building the first batteries-included framework for authorization so developers don't have to roll it on their own ever again. We're designing slick APIs to cut down the amount of time they spend getting their system set up, and building a fully-fledged policy engine and programming language (in Rust) under the hood to ensure they can customize their system however they need. We don't have any product managers – the engineers on the team are responsible for taking broad problems, experimenting with potential solutions and shipping a superhuman experience for our users.
The team members who join now will not only have a disproportionately large impact on the product, but also on the culture and future of the company.
We are based in NYC and hiring folks remote or onsite.
Open edX / OpenCraft | Full-time | TRUE REMOTE (async/worldwide) | Senior Open Source Developer on Open edX - React, Python/Django, AWS/Kubernetes
Do you care about contributing to open-source, and appreciate a good challenge? We do too! :)
Open-source
We are a team of veteran open-source developers, working on educational and community-based projects in an open-first environment – and we are looking for new members. By joining us, you will work full-time on open-source, pushing your changes to free software projects upstream through pull requests, contributing features, documentation, or help on public forums.
We care deeply about contributing our work upstream. You will see the results of your work reused and recognized across the educational community, increasing access to quality education for everyone, everywhere.
Remote-first
Unlike companies who reluctantly started to accept remote workers recently, we have embraced it from day 1. For the past 7 years, we have based and refined our way of working around remote-friendly workflows, from the ground up. No day-long video meetings, mandatory work hours, or risk of being forced back into an office one day -- as long as you have a good internet connection, it’s none of our business when or where you work from. :)
We are all working remotely, from all continents (except Antarctica, at least so far - applicants welcome!). We use remote-friendly and timezone-agnostic workflows based on asynchronous principles and good documentation practices.
Online education
We are one of the main contributors to the Open edX project, the main open-source MOOC platform created by MIT, Harvard and many other top universities. It powers sites like edX.org, the MIT Open Learning Library, and the national online learning platform for France. We provide development and hosting for institutions like Harvard Medical School, Harvard LabXchange, Cloudera, Autodesk, and several governments. We are not affiliated with edX.org, but we contribute and work with them on various projects.
Looking for deep systems programing experience. This role is about taking things apart and seeing what makes them tick, not building new apps. (The initial coding challenge is reverse engineering a binary to find it's magic numbers. It was probably the most fun interview question I've ever seen.)
iOS-specific experience is a plus, but not a strict requirement.
We use Objective-C with a small amount of Swift for the iOS-specific parts, and Rust for the core library that is shared between Android and iOS.
Looking for someone with strong React Native experience, including the Java & Objective-C parts and bridging between them and JavaScript/TypeScript world. We're not building new apps, but rather tooling to help app developers track down bugs and improve their user experience.
Those two are specific to the mobile team (that I'm part of), but we also have lots of openings for the web and backend teams - TypeScript, Go (Golang), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, gRPC, Bigtable, Solr, etc, as well as non-engineering roles in PM, HR, Sales, Support, and more - see the full list at https://www.fullstory.com/careers/?gh_src=48c7cad32us
---
FullStory provides "Digital Experience Intelligence" - privacy-focused session replay and analytics for web and mobile apps. Basically, we help you find how and where your end-users are getting stuck. We can even rank the issues based on estimated ROI impact.
Mobile replays look like a cross between a video and a wireframe because we record and replay the draw calls, but we redact privacy-sensitive information on the device. (This allows us to use a fraction of the bandwidth/cpu/battery/etc. that recording an actual video would take.) Web uses the DOM MutationObserver API to produce a similarly magical result.
All the usual benefits: equity, healthcare, 401k matching, self-directed PTO, option to work from home even if you're near an office.
FullStory was striving for "remote equal" before everyone went remote, and we're very good at it. I'm one of the engineers on the mobile team, primarily working on iOS capture and replay, and I work remotely from Ohio. If you have any question, feel free to comment here or email me directly: nathan@[company site].
FullStory is an awesome place to work. Seriously, the best job yet in my 15+ year career!

Adacore is the maintainer of GNAT, the Ada compiler originally based on GCC (but now with many more backends: LLVM, Why3, JVM...). We also have a lot of tools revolving around the Ada ecosystem (IDEs, Coverage tools, Static Analyzers, Formal proof tooling...), everything we build is open-source and we make money by providing support, trainings, certifications...
Some of these roles involve working with Ada, some don't (we use a lot of different programming languages: Ada, C, C++, Python, Ocaml...), so it's fine to apply even if you don't know the language!
SimplePay | Kotlin / Java Web Developers | UTC+0 to UTC+8 | REMOTE
SimplePay is a profitable, developer-owned online payroll software company, with solid growth. Our software lets 23,000 (and counting!) small business owners (and their accountants) run their South African, Ireland, Singapore and Hong Kong payrolls without headaches, so they can focus on the challenge of building their businesses. We're also developing new product lines - for example, we're doing a new time tracking and staff scheduling system.
We've decided to add Kotlin to our stack for server-side development. Experienced Java developers who want to get into Kotlin are also welcome to apply. As much as I enjoy Ruby on Rails (and it's definitely helped us succeed), refactoring is becoming more painful the larger our code base becomes (using Sorbet helps, but can only take us so far). We intend to use Kotlin for the new products we're launching as well as to rewrite selected components of our existing system where it makes sense. I haven't coded in a statically typed language in years, but I've been writing Kotlin lately, and it feels surprisingly productive.
We haven't decided on a web framework yet. I don't mind Spring Boot, but investigating lighter weight alternatives would be great too (you can tell I have many battle scars from dealing with framework upgrades). We use PostgreSQL as our DB server. On the front-end, we mainly render plain HTML, but use Vue.js on the pages that need more interactivity - this role is more focused on the back-end, but front-end skills are welcome too. As you can see from our no-nonsense stack, we prefer to keep things simple with robust, proven technologies, so we can focus on solving client issues.
Our development team was already mostly remote pre-pandemic. We have a very supportive culture, and are continuously putting a lot of thought into ensuring remote work is happy work.
Please apply at https://teamsimplepay.applytojob.com/apply/WyQYFOo1wB/Experi... and attach your resume / CV in PDF format. In the "Cover Letter" section of the application, please include 1) the time zone in which you reside, and 2) a link to a PR created or an issue logged for an open source project (no matter how small or long ago) as the first two lines. Also, tell us why you would like to join SimplePay.
NoRedInk | Full-Stack Engineers, Senior Full-Stack Engineers, Principal Full-Stack Engineers, Frontend Accessibility Engineers, Growth Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Engineering Managers | REMOTE from time zones between (and including) Pacific Time (PST) through Central European Time (CET)
We’re a growing ed-tech company on a mission to help all students become better writers! NoRedInk is used by 1 in 2 school districts in the US, and students have answered over 5 billion questions on our platform. If you're looking to join a team of friendly people who listen to and learn from each other, discuss past mistakes openly as we adapt to the challenges that come with progress, all while realizing our mission, then you'll be excited to learn more about us.
Our colleagues span six time zones, California to Berlin and points in between, with lively discourse flowing freely across Slack, Zoom, and the office when we're able to be there. Wherever we're working from, we've always delighted in our work to ship new features—beginning with our curriculum and product teams, designers, through to testing by our dedicated quality assurance folks—that put teachers and students first. [1]
Our engineering team [2] takes prides in producing innovative, maintainable software. We use the cutting-edge Elm programming language for all our front-end development. Our back-end is primarily Ruby on Rails by lines of code, though we're actively moving toward Haskell; the majority of our traffic now goes through a Haskell service. We use Amazon AWS for our infrastructure orchestrated primarily using Kubernetes. We write a lot of tests, and use Jenkins for continuous integration. We've also developed and maintain several useful open-source projects. [3] You can read about our experiences with these technologies on our team blog. [4]
We’re looking for engineers who want to work on a mission that makes a difference and who are the type of collaborators that value kindness and open-mindedness.
If that's you, you can learn more about our interview process [5] and on-boarding experience [6], and you should definitely apply through our jobs page! [7]

- Documentation: At Symmetry we recognise the value of writing and have for example a Pulitzer prize-winning former WSJ journalist and a maintainer of Linux Kernel Newbies documentation. We are looking for people to write technical documentation and to document data structures and processes (open to varying range of technical ability depending on the project).
- Front end design: designers - ideally with some ability to program - to work on usability and aesthetics for our applications and other information-presenting systems, on both web and desktop
- Designers for documentation: Now that non-programming internal work is moving to markdown in git, we are hiring designers to work on templates and mini-logos for documentation and other work.
- Data Science: time series analysis in particular, including high frequency data sets that are too big for simple tools
- Information Security: incident response, threat intelligence, vuln management

- Legal and Compliance: #lawyerswhocode or who are very comfortable working with markdown in git
- Accounting: are you the sort of person who would use #ledger-cli ? If so, we would like to hear from you.
- Business: risk, operations, administrative, organisational design and business strategy, investor relations processes, talent acquisition, human resources (HR)
- we do not use but value experience in modern C++, beautiful C, Haskell, Ocaml, Rust, Elm

## About Us
Symmetry Investments is a post startup USD 9+ billion alternative asset management company with around 250 people across multiple time zones and locations.
Our core technology team has been remote-first for some time, and the whole company is following suit, accelerated by the pandemic.
I'm co-CEO and co-COO, responsible amongst other things for technology across the firm and I’m posting this myself. That should give you an idea both about how seriously we take technology and the culture of the firm.
We are five years into a period of transformation from what was initially a fairly standard enterprise finance technology approach to something new that recognises the importance of both the humane and the technical for discretionary portfolio management and for the business of running an alternative investment manager. [Amaury Sechet](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhR4PSExnqk) and [Atila Neves](https://dlang.org/blog/2019/10/15/my-vision-of-ds-future/) have been working with us as long-term consultants and we have many other talented people with lower public profiles.
It's not easy to integrate practitioners who may spend most of their day programming, but are oriented towards solving business problems, with developers who are specialists in programming. To achieve this, we wrote a little functional DSL that's now in production. Type inference of returns and parameters using inequality constraints is in a feature branch and there is plenty more to do on the language itself as well as the ecosystem around it. SIL can compile and call C++, D, and C# at runtime and interoperate with Python and R. What might be a project in itself elsewhere can be just a set of functions in Symmetry Integration Language.
The language is written in D and we have a close involvement with the D Foundation and community, hosting DConf in London. So we are looking for outstanding native code developers who would like to write D as well as people to work with practitioners writing Symmetry Integration Language. Also looking for people to write documentation and work on the build.
It's quite a creative place where we encourage a degree of courage amidst practical constraints, and we are open to doing things a different way if it's commercially sound and in the interests of our investors.
We look for virtues and capabilities over only experience and credentials although those things aren't a disadvantage. Do not let a lack of credentials or qualifications prevent you from applying. We've recently hired experts with C++, Common Lisp, D, Haxe, Haskell, Julia and Perl backgrounds, and are happy to bring them up to speed with the tools we use.
Compensation is currently not quite at Netflix standards but is generous to very generous over time by broad technology industry standards. We recognise and reward technical accomplishment and have a very flat structure - don't be surprised if our founder and Chief Investment Officer starts asking you questions about your work.
It’s definitely not required, but people can get a lot more done if they have some knowledge, whether from enthusiast or professional work.
Much more than just programming is useful, too - you learn a ton building structured information management systems, for example, so the barrier to working effectively with programmers and then learning to program yourself on the job is much lower.
Nuna (https://www.nuna.com) | San Francisco & Remote (US only)| Full-time | ONSITE (fully-remote now) | Visa Transfer
In the US, we spend an average of over $12,500 per person each year on healthcare -- that’s almost twice what other developed countries spend. Healthcare in the US costs a staggering $4 trillion dollars per year, almost 1/5 of our Nation’s entire economy. Yet with all this resource, our healthcare outcomes are poorer than other countries, people still can’t afford their healthcare, and our healthcare providers are burnt out.
Moreover, our healthcare is systemically unequal. People of color, lower income, and LGBTQ+ have demonstrably worse healthcare outcomes, a disparity grimly highlighted by the pandemic we’re living through now where people of color are three-times more likely to die from COVID-19.
How can this be, and how can we change it?
Nuna is tackling one of the most hardest problems in healthcare underlying the negative outcomes and disparities we see: how healthcare gets paid.
Today, hospitals only get paid when they do more-- more visits, more tests, more meds, more surgeries. Hopefully this helps patients get better, but regardless, the system gets paid. In fact, doing more is the only way to stay afloat.
But -- is this really the right set of incentives? Shouldn’t everyone get rewarded not just by doing more, but by when patients actually get better? Shouldn’t everyone have access to affordable, high quality care, and shouldn’t hospitals be rewarded when they deliver this care? And shouldn’t insurance companies get rewarded when they help ALL their patients get better?
Absolutely, yes. This concept is called Value-Based Care. In fact, healthcare as a whole has been trying to move in this direction for years, but making it all reality is deeply complex -- it is after all our healthcare. Nuna’s technology platform, our software apps, our vision, and our exceptionally talented team are collectively accelerating the healthcare system’s ability to make value-based care available to everyone.
In 2022, Nuna will power over $70Bn of healthcare payments for over 6.5mn patients. We also leverage our data science and platform to direct patients to the best, culturally-matched, and accessible care providers for them. And third, we make it transparent and easy for both hospitals and insurers to see how they are performing in value-based care by spotlighting the patients or areas where they need to pay extra attention so that they can provide good care to all their patients and get rewarded.
Nuna is unique - we have brought together an exceptional team of over 200 people. We are the industry’s best in healthcare data, analytics, engineering, clinicians, and value based healthcare experts. We have joined forces to create a more equitable health system for everyone.
Our dreams and ambitions to change healthcare as we know it are big. If yours are too, we want to work with you.

Argo AI | Pittsburgh, PA and Palo Alto, CA and Munich, DE, and Dearborn, MI and Pasadena, CA and Miami, Fl and Austin, TX and San Diego, CA and Washington, D.C. or Remote | Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, computer vision people of all stripes and levels, wide variety of other roles | https://argo.ai
Hi, I'm Michael - I run Perception for Argo AI, a major autonomous vehicle company backed by Ford and Volkswagen. I'm hiring talented computer vision folks of all levels, and Argo AI is hiring broadly across many roles. You might be surprised at all the types of expertise we need - not only machine learning engineers and scientists, but high performance programming and software optimization experts, geometric computer vision specialists, and much more.
We are building level 4 autonomous vehicles (of multiple types) for cities, and we have built a very sophisticated set of systems. Some of the things that make Argo unique are our multiple autonomous platforms, our custom LiDAR (>400m range!), and our presence both across the United States and in Germany. And of course, the people - I came to Argo from Google, and this is the best job I've ever had. Everyone is smart, focused, and rowing in the same direction. I also really value the partnerships we have with academia, like the Argo AI Center for Autonomous Vehicle Research at Carnegie Mellon - the close partnerships we have with researchers from CMU, Georgia Tech, TUM, and more allow us to explore the forefront of technology while also keeping our eye on the ball of building products.
If you're experienced and think you might be a good fit in the Perception org, but can't find a job listing above that feels right, feel free also to email me directly at schoenberg@argo.ai - I would be happy to take a look at a CV/resume and put you in touch with our recruiting team. I'm also hiring for a few technical lead manager roles, so if you're a specialist in both deep learning and LiDAR, I'd love to talk to you (or apply to this role: https://www.argo.ai/careers/open-positions/?gh_jid=3082712).

Glimpse.ai | Multiple Engineering Roles | Baltimore or Remote | Full-time | VISA Sponsorship Available | $150k - $300k + Benefits + Equity | https://www.glimpse.ai
Glimpse.ai is a profitable, stable, and growing artificial intelligence startup that is building an NLP product that automatically writes content about any subject with the same level of quality, factual accuracy, and usefulness as a human. This product already has thousands of monthly paying subscribers and our MRR has been growing by 8-10% month over month.
Our research is centered around making language modeling more accurate, fluent, and useful for users. We are able to write accurately about topics that are too recent for a model to have been trained on (such as writing about Elden Ring or Ukraine) and about topics that are extremely fact dense where current models would hallucinate and write inaccurately.
You would be at the intersection of research and production code - constantly ingesting research papers, building prototypes, and later turning those prototypes into production code.
Our ML work almost exclusively involves very heavy deep learning (transformers) and we primarily use PyTorch.
You will be working directly with our Founder/CEO (me!), who is leading the ML team, both as a manager and an individual contributor.
We would love to talk with anyone who has done research in text generation, information retrieval, or reinforcement learning for NLP tasks.
You would be responsible for taking our AI and allowing giving our users ways to use it and interact with it. What is the point of AI research if there is no way for anyone to use it and derive value from it?
Our stack primarily involves Ruby on Rails and React.js. We use technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and RabbitMQ.
If you have industry experience doing full stack work (no matter what the stack), we would love to hear from you. We would also be very interested in talking with people who have the experience and desire for a Team Lead position.

Skiller Whale | Software Engineer (Curriculum) | Remote | Anywhere in the world | £30-120k
We’re looking for software engineers to research, write and test our teaching curriculums across many programming languages and technologies. Our salary range reflects the fact that we need a mix of junior, mid-level and senior developers.
Unlike most software roles you’ll be learning and writing on a wide range of languages; you won’t be glued to one software stack. That includes Golang, Python, C#, Javascript and TypeScript right now; next on our list are Java, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails and Rust.
You’ll need to be fast at learning new technologies. That means more than just a "Hello World"; it means understanding edge cases, gotchas, idioms. It means being willing to test out weird behaviours. Your research is crucial for our learners to understand the full depth of any topic.
You also need to be able to write English fluently and concisely. You’ll demonstrate a close empathy for the trainers and learners who rely on your work. And you should enjoy working with other people doing exactly the same, wanting each others work to be the best it possibly can.
You won’t need teaching experience, but you will have a track record in software development, and a desire to advance other developers’ skills first and foremost.
Skiller Whale currently employs 10 people, with 3 more joining soon. We have raised a total of £2.8m funding (mostly recently in January 2022) and are growing 15% month-on-month. As our next employee you will have a huge role to play in shaping Skiller Whale as a company. Our very first in-person meeting will be in Oxford, UK in June 2022. We’d love to have you there!
Either way, you can expect Hywel to get back to you quickly (I joined in March & my first approach was in February. I had 3 × 1 hour interviews, and a 2 hour offline writing assessment).
Who we are Skiller Whale (https://skillerwhale.com) upgrades the skillsets of professional software teams. Instead of passive videos and relying on developers to learn ‘organically’, Skiller Whale delivers 60-90 minute live, hands-on sessions with an expert. We make learning as efficient and intense as possible. Our original material contains challenging coding exercises which our trainers help navigate.
In the long term, we want to move beyond software engineers and become the go-to global provider for professional learning (roughly a $360bn industry).
We try to work in line with our values of openness, rationality, creativity and autonomy. We also want our team to remain diverse and inclusive as we scale, so we would especially welcome your application if you’re part of a traditionally underrepresented group.
Pure Storage | DevOps, SRE, PM, Tech Lead | Hybrid | Prague

This is still a thing?
Most people are NOT independently wealthy, so to a high degree they join ANY team for the same reason: so they do not find themselves homeless when rent is due...
can I ask why Palantir is recruiting using someone's personal gmail address? Considering the defense contractor / US Citizen requirements / security clearance issues possibly involved in working there, this is very odd. I am not complaining (as per dang's guidelines in the top level post) but curious about the process.
Good catch by the way. Neither "aisuiy94" nor "aaneo1000" has a single hit on Google, so for all we know this post could be from a non-allied foreign government.
[EDIT] In fact, someone from Palantir posted this warning on Quora:
A note from Palantir:
We have been made aware of individuals fraudulently claiming to represent Palantir recruiting. Please note that you will never be asked to submit a payment or share financial information to participate in our interview process. If you suspect that you've been contacted by a scammer, we recommend you cease all communication with the individual and consider reporting them to the relevant authorities, such as the US FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center. If you'd like to verify the legitimacy of an email you received from Palantir Recruiting, forward it to careers@palantir.com
[EDIT2] aisuiy94 deleted their post which makes this even more suspicious. For the record: They were a newly-created account, currently with 0 karma https://news.ycombinator.com/user?id=aisuiy94 and they said that people interested in applying for a job at Palantir should email their application/CV to aaneo1000@gmail.com
I would hope that the talent pool of people who might get hired by Palantir are pretty good at identifying suspicious things on the internet generally, but you never know who might just blast out their CV.
edit: after they deleted the post, that is SUPER suspicious now. I wish I'd taken a screenshot of it.
Stripe | Solutions Architect | Melbourne, Sydney | ONSITE, REMOTE, VISA
Hi, I'm dalan Head of AUNZ Solutions Architecture,
Interested in increasing the GDP of the internet? My team is looking for strong technical generalists to join Solutions Architecture at Stripe. Looking for people who are comfortable in multiple programming languages, interested in working with our users, and delving into complex integration problems spanning time, currencies, and alternative payment methods.
We’re especially keen to chat if you are:
* Confident and comfortable with customers
* A strong technical generalist (you may have been a developer in a prior role)
* Comfortable with code-level debugging (Stripe code and user code)
